We take pride in many things here at Cantigny. On Friday, August 5, two of the things we are especially proud of — junior golf development and one of our former employees — will come together in a very special event.
Wheaton native Kevin Streelman, former Cantigny Golf employee and current PGA Tour professional, will return to Cantigny for an event dedicated to youth golf development.
We are quite proud to proclaim Kevin as one of our own, especially given his strong sense of values and professionalism. Kevin and his family have been fixtures here through the years, and we always love to see him when he's in town.
True to form, when Kevin commits his time it is often geared toward youth. In this particular event, sponsored by Wilson Golf and partnering with the Illinois Junior Golf Association, Kevin will oversee the 2011 IJGA Wilson Staff Slam Finals, concluding a season-long skills challenge at golf courses throughout Chicagoland.

After the skills event, Kevin will take questions from junior golfers and then conduct a four-hole on-course lesson. He will play alongside selected juniors and wear a microphone so spectators can hear his thoughts on shotmaking and course management.
The event is free and open to the public. Advance registration is recommended at ijga.org. I hope you can join us for what promises to be a memorable day at Cantigny Golf.

Cantigny Golf's main course will officially enter the realm of night golf in August with two different themes in back-to-back nights — one for families and another for couples.
Friday, August 19 will be our Parent/Child event and Saturday, August 20 will be for couples. Both events will begin with a BBQ cookout, followed by 3 holes of glow-in-the-dark golf.
