Couples' Nine & Dine: A Man and His Grill(s)....

Parent/Junior Golf & Grill June 26

I love to grill.

In my backyard I have a gas grill and four Weber kettle grills. It‘s safe to say the passion has evolved over the years.

I went through a mad scientist phase for a while and tried pretty much everything I could dream up. I must have cooked shrimp 50 different ways. I‘d get a piece of salmon and section it off with five different seasonings. I‘ve given myself food poisoning twice (I don‘t like overcooked fish).

I have a brother, a cousin, and a brother-in-law who are also enthusiasts (I have to admit my brother-in-law has me beat — he has six kettle grills). We each have our own styles, methods, and preference for flavoring, and when we cook together side dishes have no real purpose.

I‘ve developed a few favorites over the years. One of which is a cajun-seasoned chicken thigh that sits on
the grill for three hours. My brother-in-law taught me the art of slow-cooking on the kettle and it opened a whole new world for me.

The Three-Hour Chicken will be featured again at our
June 4 Couples‘ Nine & Dine event.

We hosted two couples‘ events last year and had a ton of fun. The event starts with a 2:30pm shotgun, followed by a cookout, obstacle putting course, and other special events. We eat, drink, and be merry — and watch the sun go down on this most beautiful golf course. I hope you can join us for this entirely unique Cantigny experience.
Introduce your children to the big course in style at the Parent/ Junior Golf & Grill. This event will begin with a putting challenge, followed by a 9-hole competition, and ending with a good old fashioned cookout.
